Miles I am supposed to run: 3
Miles I actually ran: 3
I was so exhausted after the race yesterday that I spent the remainder of the day lying dramatically on the sofa, demanding Mr Runner brought me lots of cups of tea and chocolate. He very quickly got bored with this, and buggered off upstairs to leave me to fend for myself :(
Determined not to have a repeat of yesterdays sub-par performance I spent much of my time lounging on the sofa productively googling, and found a serious training plan that even involves pre-training (sounds impressive doesn't it!) Tokyo 2020 here I come!
Or something like that anyway.
Technically the pre-training part is supposed to take the 5 weeks before you start proper training...but I only have 3 weeks...with a number of social events that may make it hard to follow. I have also been slightly ambitious and chosen an advanced training programme. 1st half marathon = beginner, 2nd half marathon = intermediate, 3rd half marathon = advanced??
But hey, as the saying goes. If you shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.
Sticking with the positives. I managed the 3 mile run on my plan today. Whether I make it to my planned speed training session tomorrow, is a whole other thing.
